EU Referendum
Reasons why UK shouldn’t leave the EU:
What’s wrong with McDonalds?
- $2 Billion every year is spent on advertising and promotion. Company sales are over $40 billion per year.
- They promote their food as healthy and nutritious yet it contains processed food such as junk food which leads to life threatening illnesses.
- Workers are exploited with low wages in order to maximise profits. Staff turnover is high making it hard to form a union.

The transformation of Tottenham Hotspur under Mauricio Pochettino was captured well by the Watford manager, Quique Sánchez Flores.
They are proper title contenders, but they would have to be mighty beasts indeed to win it while also going far in the Europa League and FA Cup.
Yet Kevin Wimmer’s seamless replacement of Jan Vertonghen has ensured their defence remains mean and they have the best goal difference in the league.

One feature which Aditya Chakrabortty uses in the text is personification. He uses it where he says: the 72 storey skyscraper that already stalks Londoners everywhere they go. This is an example of personification because it gives a building human like features and characteristics. It also says it ‘glowers over our conversations in Peckham’. This is also something a building obviously cannot do. Aditya uses this feature so we know how the Shard ‘feels’ about Peckham. Peckham is used as an example as it is a place where people discredit it. He knows that people have prejudice of Peckham by wealthier people and the Shard is used as an example of upper class people. Overall, the Shard is used as a way to show how richer people despise people from Peckham.
